Early Spring 1998/Vol. 5 No. 1 Dear Friends, I hope your holidays were bright and merry and I especially hope
that you managed to play at least a few train games in between
the festivities. First of all, I want to announce a new schedule for the Train
Gamers Gazette. After three years of struggling with trying to
get the Fall issue of the Gazette out, I have finally admitted
defeat. There is no way that I can get an issue out in September.
I am physically and emotionally exhausted by the end of the summer
convention season and RailCon. So, instead of fighting these circumstances
every year, I am going to bow to the inevitable and just change
the schedule for when the issues should appear. So, here is the new schedule. I may reevaluate the schedule at
the end of this year to make adjustments that will serve you better.
Expect issues to appear in January, April, July, October/November. Now on to other concerns. Here we are at the beginning of a new
year. Many of you have renewed your memberships. Many of you have
not, though. I know that a lot of you are used to renewing your
memberships when you see me at conventions but this may not be
possible this year (see enclosed letter). So, please consider
renewing now. It is extremely difficult to budget if we do not
know how much money the TGA has. Because we are never certain
how many people plan to renew, we must act conservatively with
an eye toward keeping the TGA as solvent as possible. There are
so many projects that we would like to initiate but can't because
of a lack of capital. We want to do more for TGA members but won't
risk the financial health of the TGA. Why don't you renew now
and show us that you want the TGA to move forward? Also, I am looking for articles and variants for the newsletter.
I am especially interested in putting together an issue on how
to teach novices and children with special rules/variants for
kids. If you have anything like that, please let me know. Until we meet again, Home | The Manifest | All Aboard | Train Gamers Gazette Questions or comments? Email tgatrains@aol.com. The contents of this Web Site are copyright © 1998 by The Train
