2.3.9   ARCHANGELS The choir of Archangels has two very different personas. Among the children of clay, Archangels are often seen as the greatest of all angels. This directly contradicts their actual position among the children of fire. To men, this title is used to refer to any celestial above the rank of Angel. Most of the celestials they identify as Archangels are, in fact, of much higher ranks--Gabriel and Michael being only two of a handful of examples. Within celestial society, Archangels have little clout or status. They are only slightly elevated from the hordes of Angels who swarm the Earth. Their number is a quarter that of their lesser brethren and their power only slightly more enhanced. The Prince of this choir is Barbiel. He is, however, a rather unmemorable member of the celestial cast.
