3.2.10   GAINING AND LOSING GRACE

During the course of a character’s existence, their grace score can fluctuate. There is a certain set of behaviors the Almighty prefers from the children of fire, and he favors those who follow this code and disfavors those who act against His wishes.

Each order has its own set of standards that apply specifically to how they gain and lose grace. There are, however, some general actions that will garner an increase or decrease of grace. Below are two lists detailing some of these actions. The storyteller should feel free to add or subtract from these lists as they see fit. Later supplements to this initial system will detail some of the criteria for each of the orders.

Losing Grace
Killing a child of clay (when not ordered to do so), 10
Divine Intervention,

Infringing on man’s free will,

Excessive use of divine force,

Succumbing to temptation which lead to the failure of a mission,

Consciously disobeying the will of God,

Taking actions that cause a child of clay to turn away from the Almighty,

conceiving a child with a mortal being (immediate loss of all grace)
having sex with a child of clay, but not producing offspring, 7

Gaining Grace
Converting a child of clay back to the path of the Almighty, 5
Destroying an Anakim or Nephilim,

Overcoming severe temptation to complete one’s mission,

Strengthening the faith of a child of clay,

Defeating overwhelming evil forces,
